Congratulations are in order for Daniel Goddard.
The actor who portrays Cane Ashby on The Young and the Restless, welcomed son Sebastian William Goddard into the world on Friday, December 19.
The child weighed nine pounds, 11 ounces and measured 21 inches in length. This is Goddard's second child with wife Rachel.
All fans of The Young and the Restless know that Daniel Goddard plays the role of Cane on daytime's top-rated drama.

Daniel Goddard recently sat down with TV Guide Canada to discuss his character's story lines on The Young and the Restless. Here are excerpts of what he had to say:
Do you think Cane is more in love with the idea of falling in love more than actually being in love?
I think so. A universal trait in most people is they want to be wanted and loved. Canes a nurturing person, and given his childhood, that makes sense. Does he fall out of love easily? Yes if Cane is betrayed. Because Cane grew up without a mother and father, hes also very careful in areas of love. He doesnt invite just anyone into his heart.
When The Young and the Restless finally gets their act together and rehires Victoria Rowell, what do you think Drus reaction will be like when she learns of her daughters new boyfriend?
I would love, love, love to see that reaction. Of course, that decision is beyond my control, but the mere idea of Cane being on the couch in a state of undress as the door opens with Dru standing there
well, it would be a pleasure to play is all I can say. Cane never interacted with Dru before, so it would be so cool to work with Victoria.
Daniel Goddard (Cane Ashby, The Young and the Restless) will be participating in the 31st Annual Toyota Pro/Celebrity Race in Long Beach, California on April 14.
The 10-lap sprint-style race will be held along the seaside street course in Long Beach.
Goddard and other celebrity drivers must first complete training, both in classroom and on-track, at Danny McKeever's FAST LANE Racing School, which is the "Official Racing School of Toyota Motorsports."
From there, the annual race raises money for charity; Toyota donates $5,000 per driver to Miller Children's Hospital of Long Beach and Children's Hospital of Orange County. An additional $5,000 will be donated to the winning driver's charity of choice.

Daniel Goddard has a unique way of blowing off steam.
"Once you get bitten by the bug, it's over," The Young and the Restless star told Soap Opera Digest about go-kart racing. "I'm going out to the track and racing every week. The go-karts I'm driving go about 90 m.p.h., but when your butt's an inch-and-a-half off the ground and there's no suspension so the car's completely stiff you feel you're going 140. It's fantastic!"
Goddard continued:
"It's about the pursuit of human excellence and excelling at something where the minutest mistake can cause disaster. It's like meditation for me, because you must focus on every spilt-second that passes by; you can't think about anything else. I need that."
In the past, Winsor Harmon of The Bold and the Beautiful has also advocated the enjoyment of go-kart racing.
"It's a strong learning tool to teach you the only person in this world who can take away or ruin what you want is yourself," Goddard concluded. "There's no one else you can blame. It teaches responsibility and to be careful with your actions and impeccable with your choices.
Daniel Goddard - or, to be specific, his character Cane - has a decision to make: does he become romantically involved with Lily (Christel Khali) or Heather?
I think Lily was incredibly patient with him. Cane admires that she is so trusting and loyal," The Young and the Restless star recently said. "The big problem is the age difference and time will tell if they can get past that. I think if she can grow from her relationship with Cane and, in turn, Cane can experience some of her trust and loyalty which he needs, it might work."
But what about Heather Stevens (Vail Bloom), who is attractive, single and closer to his age? Cane has already begun his flirtation with Heather, which appears to be reciprocated.
I think it will come down to what Cane needs," the actor said. "There is the uncomplicated world of Lily where he can be the knight in shining armor. Then there is Heather, who is smart and a go-getter and they share a similar energy.
Cane and Lily could be very romantic where Cane and Heather would be more 'over the couch, across the room and into the driveway' like he was with Amber. It will be interesting to see where Cane ends up with Lily or Heather."
How does Daniel Goddard feel about his character of Cane on The Young and Restless?
Here's what he had to say to CBS about it...
CBS.com: How does Cane feel about his brand new family that appeared overnight?
DANIEL GODDARD: Well in the beginning it's almost too good to be true. But, down the road you realize these people actually do care about you, that you can reciprocate that care. For example, Jill goes through some trials and tribulations. Those events bond Jill (Jess Walton) and Cane together. I think Cane going to work for Katherine only brings them together closer.
You didn't really see that much of Jill and Cane but then the two realized that they can get back together and have that mother/son relationship there. I think that the two of them have a bond for each other. Also, this goes for Katherine. Cane sees Katherine's point of view after learning what Katherine did after he was born. Cane sees Jill's circumstances as well. I think he'd be a good broker and he'd be able to fix their relationship, fix what is broken.
But then again it could be just the way [Kay and Jill] communicate and something that doesn't need to be fixed because, that's who they are. Cane sees both sides of the coin when it comes to them and he really enjoys belonging to something.
CBS.com: Was Cane's unsteady upbringing without a family something that made this new family all the better?
DANIEL GODDARD: Definitely. I did a lot of research on adoption. I interviewed people who hadn't found their biological parents, but were looking and also I interviewed people who had been through the process and found their parents. Everyone that I talked to said that, originally, there was an incredible sense of malice and venom towards the person that gave them away until they understand the circumstances.
You'll find in a lot of cases that the person didn't feel that they could give the child a life that they deserved, and when the child, who was given away, gets over that and understands that it was done for their own best interest or it was done because the mother didn't have a say in it, you get past it. For Cane, he's had so much time without them it's pointless to have the time with them and not enjoying it.
